I know that I haven't really done a great job keeping up my blog. I decided to add a few videos taken in the last week. It is so crazy and amazing to me that this little baby developed inside me, growing and learning all the time. It is truly amazing to have a baby. N8 and I love being parents and the excitement that it brings everyday. About 5 minutes before we left to see the family for Bryce's mission farewell, Brooklynn was in the kitchen and started pulling herself along. We had to stop everything to try to get it on video. Then just 2 days later, we took another video the day of her 8 month birthday and she was just cruising along.

It is hard to get stuff done at our house because I feel like I have to spend most of my time with Brooklynn. I keep thinking about the song Cats in the Cradle. I never want to feel like I never spent enough time with her, I don't want my life with her to have regrets. I guess we will see as our life unfolds.

I know, it is about time that I update my blog....

Last night I was blessed with another dream about mom. I love these dreams, whether real or not, I always feel that I get a little insight for who my mother really was.My dreams are always scattered with not much of a story, this one was enough to remember and wake up happy with the thought of meeting her. It started out with Laura calling me about a family reunion that we were making plans for. She surprised me by telling me that she had been in contact with mom and that she was finally going to make it to the reunion this year. I was so excited about getting the chance to finally meet her.

The day we met at the reunion, I approached and hugged her like a relative that I had wished to get to know my whole life but life had led us in different directions that prevented us from doing so. It seems as though we talked for a bit I don’t remember what it was about. She was dressed in older clothing, I guess made up from my memory of old photos. She had short hair, large glasses and just a plain sweater. She had lots of visitors and so I left to see who else had made it to the reunion. As I left her camping spot, I noticed she had set up a sign language learning center for anyone that wanted to pick up a few things. She had several tables set up with different crafts and it soon became the hang out place for everyone.

I soon found Aunt LeAnn, Kirsten with her girls, Laura with her kids, and Becca. They too seemed just as eager to spend time with mom. She spent a lot of time doing crafts with the grand kids, who grew to adore her. As the days went by, everyone got their chance to spend some quality time with mom and soon my time came. I was helping her pack up her car and finally asked her why she never came back after she got better. She told me that she did for a little while but saw that my dad had a job that she knew would not last or support the family and so she chose to leave. She had been living in California this entire time while we all grew up without her.

I was a frustrated that she chose to walk out on us and do something else with her life. She took the easy way out and didn’t feel that she did anything wrong. I finished helping her pack up her things so she could again leave us and go back home; wondering when we would see her again.

When I woke up I was happy that I got to see her, even though it was just a dream. I thought about that last part and how annoyed I was to find out that she left us by choice. Then I came to realize that I would not be the person I am now today if she was a part of my life, as sad as it sounds. I could have ended up with a completely different life. I would not have the family I have today. I became who I am today because of my step-mom, step-family, my dad and my brothers and sisters. I realized that I should not try to wish it all away. I should not try to wish it had been different because I would have missed out on everything I have today.

I don't know if the dream had any meaning but I try to document each dream I have so I can always have those memories and reminders. It has been about 3 years since my last dream.

We have been waiting for so long to share our news! Most of our close family found out on Christmas but I wanted to let the rest of you know as well!

I am only about 14 weeks and FINALLY the sickness is already dying down and getting much better!!!

We are due around July 4th and are extremely excited!!

We had an awesome 4th of July this year. We went with N8's parents to Colonial Museum for the Freedom Festival. They had some pretty neat stuff there and a lot of old machines, like the printing press.

Then we went to Chiska's house for a BBQ. It was good to see everyone and spend time with Eem and Hunadu.

We left Chiska's house at about 8pm and went to Rock Canyon park to watch the fireworks from the Stadium of Fire with Bryce's friends, Amity and Jacob. It was fun to finally get to spend some time with Hunadu, it was the first time in nearly a month since we had seen each other.

I love my calling! I get to be with Primary kids on Sundays. I love seeing all the kids there, their excitement to sing primary songs, the weird comments that they come up with.

I have been in this calling for almost 6 months and I hope to be in Primary for a long time. Relief Society has always been hard for me. It just wasn't appealing... I tried for months to enjoy it but I just felt like it was sooo cheesy, so fake.

Primary is so different, if someone has something to say, they say it. I will go home some days and my cheeks will hurt from smiling too much.

I also wanted to apologize for slacking on my blog posts. Summer is coming up and I am sure I will be better at it these next few months! Yay for warm weather!!

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas

N8 and I just watched The Boy in the Striped Pajamas. I guess I wanted to blog about it because it really had an effect on me. It is about the Holocaust, which has always been interesting to learn about. This movie is about a boy that loses his friends when the family moves from Berlin to the country, to live near a "farm". He's lonely and bored. He likes to explore and gradually realises the truth behind his father's job – he's an official in charge of a concentration camp. This movie is heart wrenching but I really enjoyed it!

I really am trying to do better... but, the New Year's Man brought me this huge can of nacho cheese sauce that I had been begging him to buy for months. I have resolved that I have to finish this huge can of cheese first since I make such a big deal about it. It would be too hard to throw it out.

Kirsten you probably remember how much I love nacho cheese sauce...eating the entire can at your house when M1 was born. Well... i still love it!

New Year's Resolution....Clean Eating

Okay... I have never really had New Year's resolutions but this year I am considering it. I got this great email forward from Becca about living in the moment. I do not know how long it will last but have posted it at my desk as a reminder to live each day to the fullest. I don't want to look back and remember all the fights I had with N8 about him not doing the dishes or making our bed. I want to refrain from trying to improve anyone else but myself. I want to improve my mind and body.

I work with this fantastic woman, Wendy, who is so healthy and fit. She loves to eat, sleep, and talk about being fit and healthy. In the 2+ years that I have been at Cpix, she has influenced many people to eat better. Soooo... I am not going on a diet but I do want to try to eat better and exercise more. Please check out Wendy's Blog too for some great tips on eating healthier. She includes lots of great things about food cravings, healthy recipes, school lunches, dieting myths, the effects of nitrates and the latest is about ways to prevent cancer.

Also... I want to encourage everyone looking for a laugh to read S.T. Lewis's blog. He is the most creative and talented writer and artist. His last 2 posts will make you laugh out loud. Let me know what you think.

Genther Family Reunion

Okay... I keep getting emails about the Genther family reunion . I have not done anything about it because I am not sure who is actually going and who is not able to go. I do not want to waste my time and money going to a family reunion and see a family I do not even know that well... no one goes to them. I want to hear from everyone else to find out who is planning on going and who is not so Nate and I can make our decision. I love our family reunions but mostly to visit with those that I am close to but never get to see.... Please.. let us know what your plans are. Thanks!

Excited for ABC's Lost - Season 5

I love Lost, it is one of the most intriguing shows on t.v. The premiere event is on January 21st. It is a show about a band of friends, family, enemies and strangers that must continue to work together to stay alive with danger and mystery looming behind every corner on this island. I cannot wait for this series to start again!!! Hooray!

Sledding on Saturday

Last Saturday, N8 and I went sledding with a friend from Work (Lucky and her husband) and Eem and Bryce. It was a lot of fun, our sleds were so awesome and the snow was perfect. It was a fun to hang out with everyone. One of the pictures is a close-up of Bryce's face after he turfed it trying a few tricks. Some of the pictures are of Bryce and Eem trying to get into every picture I took, and one of my friend, Lucky, taking advantage of her husband carrying her up the hill. Some of my favorites of Bryce are of him trying to look like the odd one out in the picture, the lonely boy.

We had our long awaited company party last night. Anything our CEO plans is so much fun. Every year he seems to out do the year before. Nate had school and could not come with me so I invited my brother, Eem. It was so much fun. We had dinner, a movie of the past year and then we played Bingo to win prizes.

Eem actually won the blackout round of Bingo and the prize was a mini laptop. Since he is not an employee with Cpix, then I got the prize. Yeah! This worked out great since Eem already has a laptop and I have been wanting one for a while. I took a picture of the cute laptop compared to Nate's laptop so you can see how cute it is. Yeah!!!

Christmas lights in SLC

I had been begging N8 to go up and see the lights in SLC. I could tell that he didn't want to make the drive and stand in the cold for a few hours but since his brother and parents wanted to go to SLC, he of course was more excited about going. I took a few pictures before our camera died. It was a lot of fun but we did not realize that they was a Jazz game and it took us forever to get around town and find a place to park. It is always fun to spend time with family, especially the memories that we make as a family around the holidays!

OKay... I really do not know where I got this horrible stomach ache and outrageous headache. I can only assume that it was from John, N8's dad. I wanted to get up this morning to go shopping but my stomach started hurting at about 3am.... and I have been in bed ever since watching movie after movie.

OUr Thanksgiving turned out really fun. We ate with n8's family this year. It was n8's dad's birthday and he was sick in bed all day. I felt pretty bad for him and hopefully he is feeling better today. We played a few games and hovered around the food all day.

Afterwards, we went to mom and dads because they actually made some pumpkin pie. Nathaniel and Kegan drove up from Rexburg to be with the family and they came over to our house to play games all night. I love that Kegan is there to encourage Nathaniel to come by and visit us more often.

I love being with N8's family and I love being with my family. I am sooo Thankful for any holidays that support families being with each other.

Okay... well I am going to go back to bed and get more sleep. Hope everyone else had a great Thanksgiving!

How long did you date? On and off since high school... we started dating about 1 month before we graduated.
Who is taller? N8, perfect height
Who can sing best? hmmm, that is a hard one. I think that we are tied. We both can sing hymns.. and sing in the car.. that is about it..
Who is smarter? N8 graduated with High Honors and I graduated with Honors. I definitely worked WAYY harder than he did.
Who does laundry? Me, sometimes if I get mad enough, then I will only fold my clothes and leave his in the basket... I think he gets the hint.
Who pays the bills? I write the checks, he is always online checking our account and online bill pay
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I do, I have to sleep closest to the bathroom
Who mows the lawn? If we had a lawn at our town home... N8 will sometimes mow his parent's lawn if he is bored enough.

Staying Safe: Dangers in blogging

A growing number of Utahns are discovering serious drawbacks to a popular pastime: blogging. But we found some cases that may change the way you blog.

Blogs help families share memories, but they can also make families a target for harassment, even stalking. But there's little law enforcement officers can do. It's simply post at your own peril.

A crazy birthday haircut documented on a family blog. His mom never dreamed their Mohawk memory would end up making him look like a member of the Hitler Youth on someone else's blog.

"We were really upset," blogger Lainie Ottley said. "For me, it's a huge offense."

She not only felt violated, but afraid of the association with neo-Nazis.

"Given the verbiage with the picture, we felt like it had created a pretty dangerous situation," Ottley said.

But when she called police, she learned there's not a thing they can do.

"That's some of the frustration, almost daily, when I take these calls," said Rhett McQuist, with Utah's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force. "Right now, the laws haven't caught up with technology."

For another blogger, who did not want to be identified, the peril came not from pictures, but postings. "We had had no idea who it was," she said.

Degrading comments turned into more than a dozen threats and insults a day posted to her family's blog. "We just felt harassed and started to feel unsafe because of what was written," she said.

She and her husband eventually hired an attorney, filed a lawsuit, subpoenaed Google and were shocked to discover their stalker was a close family member. "It wrecked my trust in people, still does. And it makes you question everything," she said.

Those tough experiences get at the heart of what appeals to most bloggers: posting pictures of your children and making them accessible for family and friends. But how much information is too much?

We surfed blogs and found first and last names, birth dates for an entire, a countdown to the family Disneyland vacation, information on a husband's deployment to Iraq and a slide show of the inside of someone's house.

All this makes it easy, in many cases, for us to go from blogsite to blogger's doorstep in a few computer clicks.

It's just not worth the risk for these bloggers. "If you're going to do it, just know there's no way to keep it completely safe," Ottley said.

Criminal investigators say to Stay Safe, bottom line, don't post pictures of children online. You should also protect your blogsite with a password.

They also say guard information like your address. We saw pictures where the house address was visible.

Finally, adjust settings on your blog that protect your identity and make you unsearchable.

My Birthday...and Lis's!!!

Here are some pictures from my birthday. N8's brother's family came to visit from Ogden so we spent the first of the day with N8's family at the park, with horses nearby and hanging out at N8's parent's house. I have a picture of Johnny and Kristy on the playground in the park and they are standing on these platform things... we still do not know what they are for. I had to include a picture of N8 trying to be funny with his finger up his nose. I got plenty of pictures with Zoey because she is sporting one of my cute flower clips that I made.

I went into work for a little bit because my boss told me that I had to come in for a department training, even though I asked for the day off, turns out that they made a cake and planned lunch for my birthday as well!!

Later that day, Lis and Dan came from Logan, Laura & Nate came from SLC and we had mom and dad over for cupcakes, ice cream and root beer floats. It was an awesome day, it could not have been better. Nate gave me a really cute Adidas jacket... even though he wasn't supposed to get me a gift. Since our basement is now finished, Eem, Hunadu, and Dan played Rock Band downstairs through the night and Laura is now addicted to the drums.

The next morning, Dad & Mom wanted to take us out for breakfast but Lis wanted him to make his awesome potatoes and eggs. It was sooo good and then mom had some of her "granny's hot sauce"for the potatoes and eggs, it was way better than going out to eat.

Mom has been without a functioning kitchen for over a year. Dad tried to surprise her by giving her a new kitchen last September but never finished the project. Her kitchen is not organized because of the lack of cabinets and storage space. Using an extra bedroom, she stores her dishes in boxes. Finding a special dish is nearly impossible and frustrating.

She has make shift sink and broken dishwasher to strain her dishes. She also uses her kitchen table for storage space and preparing food. This makes it impossible to use for meal time which is frustrating for the family and her. Thanksgiving and Christmas is a nightmare for her. Last year for Thanksgiving she did not even have a sink and had to use the guest bathroom to wash her dishes.

Her patience is running out, dad started this over a year ago but this still remains a disaster. Mom has begged dad to complete his project, but without the time or funds and I fear their kitchen will never get fixed. Mom needs more work space and storage. Please help me out and inform me of any new contests to enter to win mom and dad a new kitchen make over.

My new hobby

My new hobby has turned into too many bows at my house. I have decided to to try to sell my bows and flowers for a fairly inexpensive price. Feel free to take a look at my designs.
I have also made some accessory frames to hold the bows and flowers and other clips. If there is anything that you think I am missing, let me know, I would love any input.

K's ViSiT!!

I decided to post pictures from K's visit (and B's parents plus their darling dog, Buddy). On Thursday night, we had mom, dad, hunadu, eem, nate, laura and their kids over for ice cream and to visit. I posted a picture of M2 talking on the phone to lis because she coudln't be there. It was nice to hang out with everyone and play rock band. M3 really liked holding Asher, I posted a picture of M3 chiding Damian for jumping on the couch while she was holding him. :)
I also posted some pictures of the trip to Salt Lake and temple square, we walked around temple square and saw the Joseph Smith movie. I think M1 really had a hard time with watching what happened with Joseph Smith and I think she understood more than she really wanted to.
Afterwards, they went to visit with a family friend of theirs that also live in Springville, we were lucky that this family knows Nate's parents as well and they invited us to join them at their home to visit as well. We took the opportunity to spend more time with K, B and the girls. It was a quick but great visit and I was so glad that we had room for them to come and visit. By the end, I think everyone needed a good night's sleep. I also posted a picture of the sunflowers that they picked in CO and brought to us. K was pretty proud of the vase that she created.

What? He knows how to text now!!!! So Sunday morning, I get a text from Dad's phone that said, "what are you up to?". I answer back, asking who it was... I thought it was Eem or Hunadu but both have their own phones. I get a text back saying that it was dad. We went back and forth I was trying to get him to answer some questions to prove it was him. Of course, that idea didn't work because both Eem and Hunadu would know that answers just as well if not better. ha ha

So come to find out later, Hunadu taught dad how to text and he has been practicing. He is very good at it. I am so impressed and am glad that he can do it. On Monday morning, I decided to text him to see if is was just a weird fluke. I texted him and asked him if he still remembered how to text. He answered me back with something corny. So I texted him back, "ha ha". He then returned that with, "No, you are supposed to use lol. That is the lingo that Bryce taught me." Ha haaaaaa it was the funniest thing ever. He is so awesome to learn this and even try out the texting lingo. Yesterday when I texted him, I didnt answer his question right away and he send me the message, "Cat got your tongue?". He is pretty fast. He sent out a huge text to everyone in the family. He was surprised that Gran knew how to text and was doing really well with it. Anyway... i just thought it would be fun to let everyone know about Dad's new hobby.

Food Storage!!!

Lately some of my co-workers and I have been obsessed with food storage. We started little classes with just the 3 of us teaching each other what we know about food storage and learning about it together. It has been pretty exciting so far. This morning in talking to my boss, I found out the she is the the food storage rep for her ward and actually created a blog for it. I haven't had much time to look at it yet but added it to my links section for every one else to look at. We had a cool dinner on school lunch plates, we decorated plates, had a tater tot eating contest, Deb's glamour shots, drawing a Liger, hit the pinata, hit Uncle Rico's football toss and played Rock Band. It was so much fun!!! M2 wanted her hair in the little buns and so after Lis did my hair, I did her hair. i also posted 3 photos at the bottom of our short trip to Old Mesilla.

While in ABQ we went to see the Petroglyphs on a short hike, on the way down, M1 and M2 ran right past a rattlesnake. B saw it on the trial and had to call the park service guy to come and move it. It was pretty neat to see the snake even though it wasn't too big. Afterwards, we went to lunch at Subway. On the drawing pad that M1 is holding, it says, "Subway!!, Yum!!"

Brian took the really neat one of M1 jumpin in the pool. M1 and M2 are such great swimmers. M2 is the the biggest daredevil and just wants to show everyone that she can do everything that M1 can do and more. It is so fun to watch them .

White Sands in NM

One of the last activities that we did was go to the White Sands. It was like the Sand Dunes but so much neater. The sand was cool while the weather stayed hot. As you can tell by the pictures, it was way better to be buried in the sand just to keep cool. I thought that i had a picture of Kirsten but couldn't find one of her at the White Sands.

My neighbor is pregnant and I guess I got pretty excited and I am throwing her a baby shower. I made a template for these diaper invites and I think they turned out very cute.

I also made nylon headbands and I posted a picture of the clips/bows that I made to fit onto the headbands. I am giving her one black headband and one white headband and then she can choose which bow she wants. I found the cute frame idea from Martha Stewart's website and Nate made the frame for me. I am really excited. I don't know if anyone would buy these, but I think I might post my bows on Craigslist. Well, except the top right one, I think one side is lopsided. That was the first bow I made.

Dream about Mom..

I had an interesting dream last night. It was something that I always seem to wish was real, deep down, but know that it isn't. In my dreams, they jump around a lot and don't always have a full story but small activities instead.

In my dream, Rebecca, my sister, had come to visit. It was just me, Lis, Dad, mom and Rebecca at a dinner table. Rebecca was sitting next to dad having a soft susurrus conversation. I could barely hear what they were talking about but I heard Rebecca asked Dad if they were going to 'visit her'. Right after that, Mom started to look very frustrated and upset. It was mostly through body language. She spilled a few things on the table and got up to wipe them up. She was slamming cupboards when getting a towel to clean up what she had spilled.

I think Lis and I knew something was up and we both had no idea. So I asked Dad what him and Rebecca were talking about, mom looked up at him and left the room upset but didnt say a word. Then dad proceeded to tell me about my mom, Carol.

He told me that he loved all of his children very much and just wanted to keep them safe and not have to go through the things that the older ones went through. I thought that he was talking about her death but it didn't seem to suffice. Dad seemed to know that we wanted to know more and he continued his story telling us that my mom was still alive. She had been terribly sick for these past 20 years but didn't want us to go through a life of not having a mother.

He said that both him and mom agreed upon him remarrying as soon as possible so we could have a mother and she could quickly get better faster. A flood of feelings flowed through me at that moment. I was full of sadness that I had never met my mother and that I had missed out on a relationship with her. I was excited to meet her and see what she was like, if we were alike and had anything in common.

I immediately told Dad that I wanted to meet her. I knew instantly that Rebecca and him were talking about going to visit her in the hospital and I was certain that I would be coming along. Dad told me that he would have to talk with mom first to get her prepared to meet me but it should be too long. Once we got to the hospital, I waited outside the hospital door, Rebecca and Dad were just on the other side talking with my mother that I had not remembered. While I waited, people that I knew kept coming up and inviting me to attend parties and functions with them. I somehow felt obligated to go with them and thought I could be back in time to meet mom. The rest of my dream consisted of me going bowling, sledding, bbqs and all sorts of activities. By the time I had returned to the hospital, Dad told me that they had been waiting for my return but I had never come back and Mom was just too exhausted to stay awake so long. I asked if I could just have one look at her and see what she looked like in real life. I wanted to see her breathe, her skin and smell her scent.

Dad just told me that she was too sick and didn't want to bother her anymore that day and that we had to come back. I started crying because this is something that I had waited , dreamt about and secretly hoped for all my life.

I woke up with tears in my eyes and almost more upset that my dream was not real and that I really did not have the opportunity to meet my mom and to see the happiness in Dad eyes when he saw her. I know that he probably misses her so much and thinks about her often. Every once in a while, I see his nostrils flare a bit and his eyes well up when he sees his girls all grown up. When he talks about how much Laura looks like mom, I can see that he misses her so very much and it makes me sad.

I am not sure if my dream was a blessing or just happen chance. I know I need to do better in my life. I like to pretend that Mom was such a good person and is with out father in heaven. I want to meet her so badly and see her, touch her skin and smell her scent. Ever since I was little, I would pretend that this was all just a joke and I really did have a mother that cared for me and loved me. I am just so glad that I have so many siblings to take her place.

I have Lonnie to talk about mom and what he remembers about her, he seems to also feel it his responsibility to talk about gospel doctrine and principals with us to teach us more.

Jon, well, he is just Jon. he tells you his opinion whether or not you want to hear it because he knows it will help you sooner or later. I know that if time permitted and sometimes it did, we could sit and talk and talk about everything that under the sun and more. He is extremely smart and to me, a bit of a realist.

Rebecca and Kirsten to me took the nourishing spirit of mom. I used to pretend that Dad and Mom would get tired of us and send us to live with Becca or Kirsten. They have really just been our best friends and where we turned to ask for advice. It was a different story if we actually listened to them. Even though we are 1o years or more apart, we seem to have everything in common. I love it. When we visited Rebecca, I wanted my life to be like hers. She taught me abou tanning-- i dont know if that was good or not, I felt so pretty when she let us where her bikinis to tan. When she lived with Chiska and they seemed to not have a care in the world and lived for the moment. She did whatever she wanted. She has the most beautiful voice and a great artist. No matter what happened in her life, she was still her happy, laughable self that everyone wanted to be around.

Kirsten was the one that taught us a lot about life and how to treat each other. She introduced the kissing game that she made us play when we were angry with each other, she told us that when we were angry about something, then we needed to going into a private place and try to put on the most goofy face that we could think of until it made us laugh and feel happy again. I can still remember that Kirsten even showed us the goofy face that she makes when she is upset. Ha ha. Kirsten and Brian were the ones who felt that we needed to experience everything. Like bbq sauce on sandwiches (still do it to this day), going to car races, Disneyland, six flags, the beach, going shooting, sports, sleep overs, earning, budgeting and saving money-- just about everything under the sun.

Benjamin was the cool guy in the family. He is extremely creative and had the most fun games, we played a lot of war games, shooting and fighting games. I think our favorite was 'Bank', I always got to be his secretary while Lis was the baker and Nathaniel would make clothes. He is a wonderful artist.

Nathaniel... He has always been the cheesy one. He tried very hard to be serious and tough but deep down he was a complete goof ball and awesome at it. All my friends would come over just to chase him around the house and play with him, he was always nice enough to entertain them. He usually did his own thing and I don't remember too much about him except that he did anything that Ben asked him to.

Laura, I love her so much. I feel so horrible, I feel like we didnt spend enough time with each other when we were younger. She went through so much crap and turned out so wonderful. Now that we are both married and live a bit closer, I feel we are closer than we have ever been. I love it when she comes to visit. I know she thinks that I only like Damian, it is true. I just love the person that Laura has become and the friendship that we have developed. I am so happy that she married Nate, he is so great and I think he is amazingly funny and the best part is that my Nate gets along great with him!!

Elisabeth, well, she was my competition all through school. She may not see it that way but she was always that better person. She will always deny this but I know that people looked forward to hanging out with her all the time. She has such a contagious laugh that it make everyone smile and want to be around her. She also just laughs at everything anybody says --so naturally people feel very comfortable around her and want to be with her. We fought a lot but again she was the better person and was the one to say sorry even when I was wrong. We used to always talk about how we were lucky because we have been training for marriage a long time because we were twins, always shared a room, and did everything together. It was very hard when we split up after graduation. I decided to stay home for the summer instead of Kirsten's house because Nate was leaving on his mission in September and I wanted to start college. She got really mad at me and told me that she would not allow me to break up with her and that she insisted on me coming with her to Kirsten's house. We still joke about it. Elisabeth made all the decisions when we lived together and it was hard for me to decide what I wanted to do for the weekend or who to hang out with and what classes to take. Since we have been married, things really have changed and our relationship is a lot different but she is a huge part of my life.

I don't know why I wrote this much...may this is just a day of reflection... I better go and clean my house because Laura is coming to visit soon. Yeahh!!

N8's Surgery- not so cute here...in pain??

N8 had surgery on Tuesday. It was one of the scariest yet funniest times ever. Nate is very afraid of needles so it made it worse that the nurse had to stick him twice. His face turned completely white and I got lighted headed and had to sit down- not sure why because I didn't have to get poked at all. He was in surgery for a kidney stone. The doctor thinks that we should still be able to have children. I guess we will see.... I posted a picture I took with his phone because I forgot the camera :( it isnt that great.

When I left to go into the waiting room, it took me a good 20 minutes to finally focus on the book that I was reading. So many thoughts run through your mind... what could or couldn't happen. It is just all so scary. His surgery lasted about 45 minutes when the doctor came and spoke to me. I had to wait for another 45 minutes for them to make sure that Nate was awake. When they let me come in to see him, I thought that he would be awake and ready to go. He was still laying in the bed and his eyes closed and a look of pain.

He was out of it but didn't seem to think so. We had about 1/2 long conversation of him asking me the most obvious questions. I kept laughing but he didn't seem to see why it was so funny that he just wanted to know where he was, what was in his arm, on his finger and why he couldn't pull out the stuff in his arm. He probably asked me about 4-5 times that same question about what was on his arm and where he was within 1 minute. Ha ha

I think that the funniest moment was when he wanted to see what they did to him and if he had some stitches or not. The door was wide open and people all around... He flipped off his blanket, pulled up the hospital gown to see what they had done. He seemed to have no problem with the whole world viewing him. Ha ha, I was laughing so hard as I scrambled to cover him with the blanket. Nate is normally very personal about everything, especially about his surgery so I know that he would have never done this if he was more conscious and thinking properly.

He is doing just fine now and hopefully no more problems. Yeah!!!

I want to again ask everyone to check out S.T. Lewis's blog(http://stlewis.blogspot.com). This guy is so funny and I love reading his blog. Here is one from a little while ago...~~~ "Born on a mountain top in Tennessee... greenest state in the land of the free. Raised in the woods so he knew every tree. Killed him a bear when he was only three. Davy... Davy Crockett - king of the wild frontier."

How does a three-year-old kill a bear? Was the bear elderly? Did it not have legs? Did Davy accidentally run it over with a tractor? Because this could not have been a full-strength, full-sized, full-brained bear. I couldn't tie my shoes when I was three... in fact, I considered it a victory when I got them on the right feet. And I'm supposed to believe that Davy Crockett killed a fully functional bear at that age? I guess that's why there's a song and a TV show about him and not even so much as a jingle about me and my wrong-footed shoes.

Davy Crockett probably would have gone down in history as the man in the bear-skin cap if wearing a bear's carcass on your head was at all comfortable or possible. But since animals of that size are impractical as headwear, he simply killed and wore the first hat-sized critter to pass unluckily by. Let's forget about the bear for a second... how does a three-year-old even kill a raccoon? Not just physically, but morally. I feel bad when I accidentally step on a grasshopper. Little Davy was beyond feeling.~~~~ Let me know what you think... or tell him on his blog.

Sooo, here is an update in the Dallin drama.... On Monday of last week... Mom had Bryce call me and ask me if n8 and I can have Dallin stay at our house. I think Mom had Bryce called me because I like him more. Also, I think it is because she is afraid to ask me herself, kind of like the cookbook thing.

Anyway, I was glad that Bryce called me instead because he was rational about it. He completely understood when I told him that I didn't feel comfortable about it and that N8 didn't like the idea at all. N8 even wanted to make sure we were making the correct decision by talking to our bishop about it. He basically said that N8 is the patriarch of our home and if he doesn't have a good feeling, then we should listen to that.

I guess Mom was in the room with Bryce because I heard Mom saying things to Bryce. She kept talking to him the same time him or I were talking and I think he got frustrated and said, "Hold On..". Then he returned to the the phone and said, "Mom wants me to tell you that Kristal and Janell said that if Ben ever needed a place, then they would let him stay with them." It made me so mad to try to use Ben as leverage. I told Bryce, "First of all, out of our 9 kids, do you think that they would be Ben's first choice. Secondly, Janell has only a 2 bedroom apt and 2 kids...I dont think that she would even have the room and Kristal has no room to talk because she lives with mom and dad." It really irritated me that Mom had the guts to use that excuse...at that point I wanted to bring up the other incident with Dallin but I didnt.

I just told Bryce to tell them that we were sorry but couldnt have Dallin stay...Bryce replied, "Don't tell me sorry, I completely understand." I then told Bryce that he is more than welcome to come and live with us while Dallin lives with Mom and finds a job. Mom was completely against that and said that I was not going to raise her son. hmm!

Then I told Bryce that i understood that Mom, Janell, Kristal and maybe even Chiska will be mad at me. I told him to call me when things died down so we could come over again. I said that I probably wouldn't come over for a week or so...then Bryce said that it may be longer than that.

That was basically what happened on Monday...On Thursday, N8's friend had a guy party because he is getting married. So I thought I would call Eem and Bryce and see if they wanted to play racquetball. I called Bryce first and he sat and talked to me for about 10 minutes (which is really long for him) I was surprised and asked why he was talking to me for so long...he told me that he was bored because he was staying at Ryan's house (one of his best friends). Erggh!

I told him that he can come and stay with me, he said that he thinks that he might but mom wanted him at Ryan's because it is just a block away and closer to them. I think that is crap because we live about 2 miles away....they have only come to visit about 3 times in the last 7 months and 2 of the times was because we invited them. erggh! So, Bryce and I ended up just going to the mall and getting ice cream. Then him and Dad went bowling. He is pretty bummed about this because last Tuesday when they picked up Dallin, they basically told Bryce that he had to get his stuff and go. He came back later to grab a few more things and everyone told him that he had to go and couldn't be at home.

I haven't seen anyone at Mom and Dad's house since...on Sunday, I got a phone call from Dad...I answered cause i really miss him and can't really ask him to come over without making mom mad. He said, "Hello Stranger" I told him that I wasn't coming over until things died down and that I was too scared to come over with Kristal, Janell and Mom. He said that I had nothing to be afraid of...I think he was joking.

Then he told me that Bryce was staying at Ryan's house and I told him that Bryce can always come stay with us and then I hear Mom again in the background telling Dad to tell me the reason's why they have Bryce at Ryan's house. Dad repeated everything she told him...I was really mad because it was basically her decision and it sounds like he didn't take part in it at all..i wish he wasn't such a pushover. I then told Dad that if they needed a place for Bryce if it is longer than 2 weeks, he can come stay with us. Then mom said no and that it would only be a few weeks. After that, Dad told me not to be a stranger and come and visit because I had no reason to be scared. I told him that it would be a week or two before I came over.

Then.......Mom had Dad ask me when I was going to go to the temple with her and do some family names....erggh! There is no way that I would want to attend the temple with her and feel right about it. I have mean feelings towards her for trusting a friend more than me to give Bryce a place to live. I am upset that I feel like I cannot come over to their home and visit because I will be shunned by all the women at that house. I think it is a load of crap.

N8 doesn't know Dallin at all but looked him up in the online registry. I think he is a little freaked out that Dallin will come over and get mad at us...I know that won't happen, but we invested in a peep hole through our door to make him feel better so I don't answer the door to people I don't know or don't want to (since we have no windows there).

Well there is the update..I need a straw!!

LDS Conference!! Love it!

I think that we all look forward to conference. I love it, plus, I do not have to get ready for the day. I thought that we could talk about our favorite conference talks and speakers. I know we all have those talks that we feel are meant just for us and are grateful that they spoke on that subject.

Easter Egg Hunt at Chiska' House

So on friday, I saw Mom and Janell at walmart and they invited N8 and I to a Easter egg hunt at Chiska's house. They mostly planned it for Dallin's kids....they have been trying to get more involved with them while hoping that Dallin will be out in April. Caleb is 13 or 14?, Taylor is 11 or 12? and I know that Paige will be around 8 soon.

They had somewhere from about 50-100 eggs outside. I think Hunadu hid most of them and he got to hide the easter eggs too. He did a pretty good job. Afterwards, we had BBQ chicken, potatoes, pasta salad. Mom also made a second batch of hot cross buns because Janell was gone to Arizona on Good Friday...no one contested to more hot cross buns. They are my favorite because they aren't as rich as the other treats. They also had strawberry shortcake...but i was so full...i couldn't have anymore.

During dinner, Janell brought up Dallin coming home and about Dallin staying with Chiska. Around Christmas time, mom and Janell had asked if N8 and I would let Dallin stay at our house because he needed to live somewhere that didn't have children under 18. Of course N8 didnt like it at all and I was pretty concerned myself that they would even ask us. I tried to change the subject but ended up just leaving the room to avoid an awkward situation. We haven't said yes or no...mostly to avoid conflict. If they really need a place for Dallin, N8 and I think that Bryce can stay with us and Dallin can live at home. I dont think that Dad would like that so I hope that the parole officer will allow Dallin at Chiska's house.

Anyway, afterwards, Bryce, N8, Chiska and I played Guitar Hero then Andy showed us his huge music collection. It was pretty fun. My battery died about 5 minutes after we got there...I was running around and making people pose so I could get everyone that was there.

Okay, Today I have two things I wanted to post....upon reading Rebecca's post and seeing that old picture of my sisters...I was wondering what happened to Dad's photos. I think that Jon or Kirsten has them...can we get those scanned and get copies of those photos on cd. I think I would really like it and I am sure dad would want the originals back. Below are the only photos that I have.

These are just some photos I took of our Easter weekend. It was N8's mom's birthday. I included a photo of N8's younger sister...she is almost 17 and was so mad at N8 because he took her cell phone...it was a little bit akward to be around her the whole day. We spent a lot of the day outside...if you look closely...my cheeks and n8's forehead is pink. It was a fun day!!

Black Bean Lasagna

Well, Laura had this awesome recipe that Nate and I tried out on Tuesday. Black bean Lasagna was a hit with both Nate and I. He had quite a few servings and I have had it for lunch and dinner for almost 3 days in a row. I would definitely recommend this recipe to everyone. It was soooo good. Nate did say that it had too many beans...so next time i will only use one can of black beans. I think Laura also said that it was healthy too. I have added the recipe below as well. Let me know if you try it and what you think.

Black Bean Lasagne 350°

9 uncooked lasagna noodles 1 Tbsp vegetable oil

1 med onion, chopped 1 clove garlic finely chopped

1 c water 2 Tbsp chopped fresh cilantro

2 cans (15 oz) black beans, rinsed, drained 1(14 oz) can no salt whole tomato, undrain

2 cans (6 oz) no salt tomato paste 1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese

½ c Parmesan-style cheese ½ c egg product or 4 egg whites

¼ c chopped fresh parsley 2 c shredded Monterey Jack cheese

*you can use tomato sauce instead of paste, just eliminate the water. Also, you can use cottage cheese instead of ricotta, and cheddar or mozzarella cheese instead of M.J.*

Preheat oven. Cook and drain noodles according to package directions. Rinse in hot water, drain. Heat oil in 12-in non-stick skillet over medium high heat. Cook garlic and onion in oil, stirring constantly, until onion is tender. Stir in water, cilantro, beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, breaking up tomatoes. Simmer uncovered 15 min, stir occasionally. Mix remaining ingredients in separate bowl(parsley, ricotta, parm and egg whites) except the Monterey Jack cheese. Layer 1/3 each noodles, bean mix, ricotta mix, and M.J. cheese in an ungreased 13x9x2 inch baking dish. Repeat layers twice. Bake uncovered 30-35 min or till hot and bubbly. Let stand 10-15 min before cutting.

Soooo Sunday is N8's mom's birthday. She is sooo awesome. I never thought that I would get along with her as well as I do. Sometimes...i wish hung out more. I really do enjoy being around her and spending time with her. Some nights she and John will call us and invite us to go to Walmart with them or come and watch a movie. I really had a hard time when we moved out of their house. I loved our new house but missed having them around to talk with whenever I wanted.

Perhaps this is how normal families are and I am just not used to it...Mom and dad hardly call and invite us over so we make an effort at least on Sundays. We used to eat with N8's parents every sunday but Mom seemed offended and would always make little comments about how we never want to come over. I told her that it was because they never call and invite us. N8's parents call every week to see if we would like to come over. So last week I told mom that for Easter we will be with N8's family for dinner because it is his mom's birthday. I let her know that if she wanted, we could come this sunday for dinner. She said, "Oh, that's fine." That was IT!!! After a year of her complaining that we never come over for dinner, I finally take the initiative to invite ourselves over and she doesnt even seem happy or excited. Later that week we saw Mom and Janell at walmart and I reminded mom about sunday and asked if she wanted me to bring something. She said that it didnt matter, so i told her i would bring a fruit salad. Again, she just didnt seem to care. I asked her if something was wrong because she acted like this when she was mad and thought i had her cookbook(i dont want that to happen again). So instead of asking me if i had it, she let it fester and wouldnt talk to me. She ignored me for a few weeks until Bryce finally asked me because he was tired of hearing about it.

So on sunday, when we got there, we ate dinner, dad had a meeting to be at and so he left and then mom just left and went into her room...so N8 and I played Guitar Hero with Bryce for a while and them sat down for a game of Canasta. When dad got home, he came out for about 5 minutes but went back into his room too. Then eem said that he had to meet someone online and left to his room. I dont know if we are just boring or everyone has just moved on to better things. Errgghh! Anyway, it sucked.

So the reason I was really making this post is to say how cool my mother-in-law is and to find out what I can give her for her birthday. We used to give her little things from RC Willey but no longer can do that. If anyone has ideas, please let me know. Thanks!!!!

I had to cut my hair. My hair was at the point where I pulled it up into a pony tail everyday. I feel more put together with shorter hair because I have to leave it down and cannot pull it up.

Right now I am blogging while N8 is downstairs getting to know his new co-workers. They are playing X box tonight. I am glad they get along enough to want to hang out outside of work. I spent the first hour downstairs with them. I guess I just wanted to try to find out what kind of guys they were. I think I like them. I hope they plan more of these, N8 only hangs out with me and needs a break every once in a while! :)

Lis and I went to a baby shower for one of our friends in high school(Kirsten remembers her because she went to Montana with us once and met the girls). Ahh, it was fun to see her 7 months along and ready to be a mom, she is actually a year younger than us. It is so weird knowing that this may happen to N8 and I one day...not anytime soon...trust me. It was really fun. We just took some pictures of all of us now married with different lives. I posted some because I want everyone to see our friends and because I think Lis looks soooo gorgeous in these photos. Her skin is so clear and her hair looks beautiful. I was pretty jealous. I just wanted to post some photos of our latest activities. The photos of damian is the night and day he spent at our house. It was so fun babysitting, I truly got to pretend the I was a mom. I think I really like the feeling. I can say that until that time, I just really liked kids. But since babysitting Damian, it was just so fun to play with him, watch him play and talk and sleep. It was amazing to see this wonderful little boy grow up. Nate and I had agreed before we were married that we would wait for 5 years before we considered children.....this may change after our weekend with Damian. He cried only once the whole time....and that was because he didnt want to take a bath...i can deal with a dirty kid for a day or two. ha ha

I posted a few photos of Damian making this funny face..kind of like he is putting all his might into trying to break the item in his hands. I love it...the face is accompanied with this funny grunt that I just can't seem to describe. If I could have a boy just like Damian, I would forfeit our deal to wait. He is truly a joy....on top of that, I think that N8 has really found a true friend in our family. Nate and N8 get along so great and Laura and I are closer than I ever thought possible. I think that when we lived together, it was always Laura telling us that we were too young or that we couldnt borrow her stuff. now whenever we visit, it is like none of us can stop talking, we just have so much to talk about and so much to always catch up on. i love going to visit them and not worrying about becoming bored...it is just fun.

Anyway, here are some photos of Damian at Mom and Dad's house playing Dominoes and hanging out with Grandpa. One of my favorites is the one where damian is trying to big up the gian stack of dominoes and ends up collapsing the whole thing. i had to include Eem's picture because he is playing Scrabble with Becca on Facebook.

I also posted some other photos...i think it was bryce's birthday....I may be wrong, maybe just a sunday dinner. It was in Feb sometime. Eliska is wearing Eem's raquetball goggles (we had gone to play raquetball earlier for Danny's birthday). And Chiska had just finished picking hunadu's face and was showing his cute 16 year old butt to everyone.

I read a great book on Friday. It took me longer than i has thought. It was my day off and I was sick but couldn't sleep. So i started this book that mom gave to me to read. I started at 8:30a. and finished at 2pm. I think that is pretty good for being sick. Anyway, this is a book that I would recommend to anyone. It was very interesting to see how this woman survived the Rwanda Holocaust and to hear about the horrible things that happen between these people that had been neighbors for so many years. She is Catholic, but it is still neat to read how she had to put all her trust in God and pray that he would help her survive. If any of you come across this book in the library, please take a few hours to read it. It is a very neat book.

New Job

So, Nate is switching jobs. This is something he sort of felt was needed. He has already not agreed with the ethics of Sales men at his company and i think he just got tired of it. He is also going to school for Construction Management. He loves working with his hands and building things. So even though i think this is a job that is a bit more demanding, i know that he will love it.

About a month ago, Nate and I saw his uncle who is a very wealthy builder all over Utah. Nate told him that he was going into construction management. His uncle told Nate that the biggest factor over who he hires to manage his projects, is the experience the guy has with everything that goes on in the construction process. He said he would rather hire someone that has had experience in framing, sheet rocking, painting, carpentry, flooring, electric, etc. than someone who went to school for four years. He said that experience is very important to him bcause that person can relate and lend help when needed.

So Nate is on his way to his first job in that direction. He is going to work for a brand new cabinet making company. King's Cabinets is very new, they only have 6 employees, including the owner. Nate will be building, assembling and installing cabinets.

Anyone who has ever been to our home knows that Nate already loves building with wood. We have a bed frame, two night stands and a dresser...a whole bedroom set that Nate made in high school. Plus two beautiful bookcases and other odd stuff. His Senior year, i think he took 3 wood shop classes. For half of the school day, he was in wood shop building stuff.

This was really hard for me to let him make the change. It is a bit of a pay cut for us, but it is to jump back up within 2-3 months. I am also working by butt off at my work and I am hoping that my boss reads this and knows that i deserve a nice raise. I have been at CirclePix for a little over a year and in my Client Management position for a year at the end of this month. Anyway, I am very excited that Nate will be home every night and on the weekends. I value my time spent with Nate because he often worked nights and i just vegged in front of the t.v. missing him. I think especially now that it is warming up, we can go hiking and camping. Lots of activities that we passed up last summer because of his crappy schedule. So now, we are starting a new chapter that should be better than the first. It is nice because it is a 'choose your own adventure book'.

Since Nate is changing jobs, we are trying to be a little bit more tight with what we spend our money on. For Valentine's day, we went out to eat the night before because Nate had to work on Thursday. We weren't going to buy gifts for each other or spend a lot of money for any surprises.

So on Valentine's day when I get home from work, Nate was on the phone with me while I was driving home. I pulled into our garage and Nate had a container full of Lincoln Logs. I know that is weird to everyone else, but i had been begging for Lincoln logs since Thanksgiving. I finally got some!! He actually gave me 2 containers of Lincoln logs. They are so fun to play with.

I just wanted to give a little update since i have been so busy with work, i dont have much time for blogging. :(

We finally made it! It was so beautiful and so special to have close family and friends there to share in our joy. The day was perfect. No fights, everyone got along great. Okay, so awesome story from Sunday....Bryce has this girl that is soooo gorgeous and he just loves her! So on Sunday, she came by and brought Bryce some cookies. Then she stayed for a minute to say hi to dad and to mom. When mom came into the room she asked, "So, which one are you?" I cannot believe that mom said that, it was the worst thing that you can say to a girl..it would make me wonder what other girls Bryce talked about...errggh! I was funny to me...but i am sure it was a little irritating for Bryce. Nate came home yesterday after working with dad on a house and said that he wanted to get a dog. He said he didnt want a big dog, he just wanted a little one. i was so excited. so we talked about what kind of dog he was thinking about but he seemed to only care that it was small and stayed small.

There is a lady that i used to work with who owns a purebred Pomeranian who is potty trained. She and her husband just moved and now cannot have her because the place she lives wont allow her to. The best part, she is free. So we called her up and are meeting with her to look at her dog, Sophie. Nate had been researching all day yesterday to read up on them and seems pretty excited. He keeps telling everyone that we are going to get a Pomegranet named Shiloh. ha ha, i am not sure where the name of a fruit and the name of a dog can be confused, but it is cute to hear him say it.

I would really love a dog, but i am hoping that it isnt just a phase Nate is going through and hope that he wont change his mind.

Today, a very close friend of mine told me that he is gay. People used to joke about it but no one really meant it. He liked to dress nice and cared about the way he looked. I bit of a fetish with hands and neat nails, but he wasnt flamboyant or flamy.

All i could say was that i am glad that he told me. He has never really said anything to me before. I guess i am still overwhelmed by the idea. He talked to me a bit about his new friend that he finds attractive and wants to be with. I asked him to send me a picture because i didnt really know what to say. Normally with a girlfriend, i would ask if she has kissed him yet or more personal questions, but i didnt even want to ask that.

He is so great to hang out with and so fun, i guess i dont want this to affect his personality or our relationship that we have. On top of that, he asked me not to tell anyone because he is not sure how others will take it. Arrgghh!

I just need to vent, i really hope this is all a prank, but if it isnt, i just pray for the help and the strength to not cry or become distant when he wants to talk about his love life or activities with his new friend.

Lately i have been so confused as to what would be a good use of my time. It is so hard for me to decide how much time should go to errands and going hear and there and how much time i need to take for myself, bum around and watch tv.

My weekend is full of decisions of whether or not to get all the errands done or to relax and not worry about anything. I end up trying to divide my time in what i feel is the right amount of relaxation and the right amount of staying busy and running errands. Then Sunday night rolls around and i look back on my weekend and either feel like i wasted my whole weekend being lazy or i look back and feel like i got so much done, i am proud but feel like i never really got a chance to relax and get ready for the next week ahead full of more stress at work....IT IS A NEVER ENDING CIRCLE!! I guess i just really want to find the right balance so i dont feel like my weekends are a waste of time, i want to feel like i get enough done but took time for myself to relax. Arrggh. I just cant seem to find the right balance i need....this is just a venting on again, you dont need to comment unless you feel the exact same way!

Saturday is a special day, it’s a day to get ready for Sunday…we wash our face…and we wash everyone else’s face, and pretty soon we have really clean faces. Clean up your room you slob, what a mess, get a job. You’ll get an avalanche when you open up your door. Your bed’s in there, but you cant tell where ‘cuz your junks piled everywhere. Mounds and mounds of dirty clothes, moldy crust from dominoes, they’re offensive to my nose. Use a fire hose. Look at your shower door, it’s not clear anymore, I wouldn’t touch that thing with a 45 foot pole. There’s tooth paste globs on the hot/cold knobs and a ring around the sink. 16 products for your hair, aerosol instead of air. If you light a match in there you wont have a prayer.

Well...we are just waiting for the holidays...the feelings havent come yet where your heart jumps everytime you think about Thanksgiving and family or Christmas how how everyone will like your gifts because you really got what they actually wanted. I was always afraid of what happened after Bryce stopped believing in Santa...i thought for sure mom would stop buying gifts and no more christmas for us....that is about the exact opposite, it was a lot more fun, she let us all wrap each other's gifts and tease each other into guessing what mom had given us...ha ha. i sure think that i will miss that...but i guess we are always starting new memories and new traditions as the years pass...i sure hope that ours are fun and our kids remember the new year's man or look forward to holiday treats. Well....since that feeling is just starting...i will mosey through this next week until the fun starts. I guess some people would call it professional laziness...ha ha. Anyway...work has been a pain...since we are a real estate company, everyone and their dog went to National Assoc of Realtors...we have a team of four people that help to manage brokerage accounts and photographers in the southern United States(the North team is not busy at this time of year, but for us, we have California and Florida still busy...errrgghh!) anyway, one of our team members left for NAR on Tuesday and the other on Thursday for sugery...so it is just me and another guy....his wife has been ill for some time and so he isnt always able to come in....so here i am trying to do the work of four people and i am becoming very overwhelmed...my boss will ask me if i need to pass some work along to the other team and i tell him that i can handle everything...i just want to show him that i am working hard and feel it important to keep going....it has only been 2 days and i feel overwhelmed...i have got two more weeks of this any then one of our team members return.....yes!! anyway...i just wanted to vent....

She said, "I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?"

In light of recent events...terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found recently) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill, thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about. And we said OK.

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with "WE REAP WHAT WE SOW."

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

This is the cutest video of Rylee. This was right before she was diagnosed with cancer. She is so darling and i miss her so much. I dont think it is nearly as hard to not see Kirsten's girls or Becca's kids because i hardly see them as it is....but we have been pretty lucky this year to be able to see everyone more than once. Well...except Ryan. But i sure do miss Rylee because we have had more of a chance to get toknow her and play with her and love her. She is so darling and i hope that she enjoys her new life in Washington. I just hope that she will visit once in a while.

Okay, so the other day Nate and i watched The Ultimate Gift. It is a movie that i would like to own. i really liked it. We saw it on Wednesday and tonight we are going to watch it again at our house with Dad, Mom and whoever else wants to come. i am excited to see how Dad feels about it. I know it is going to make him cry. I would recommend everyone see it. I heard that the book is even better. I will put that on my list of books to read. okay, I have a really gross story to tell you about.

There was this kid that went to high school with Nate and I. He went on his mission to Paraguay. He ended up getting sent home because of this story about him.
One night he woke up because he was itching all over. When he turned on the light, there were ants everywhere. They were all over his bed and blankets and crawling on him. Him and his companion got up and somehow exterminated all of them. I dont know if they had some spray or what...

anyway...a couple weeks later, his skin was itching really bad, so he was scratching his skin and ant eggs were pouring out of his skin and pores as he scratched. He said he didnt know what to do and had to apply pressure ans squish his arms, legs and rest of his body to squish the eggs out. He said that the ants had laid eggs in his pores and he freaked out, he had a bipolar episode and so he got sent home. He was able to take some pills to get rid of it before he go back to the states. EWE! That is the grossest story ever. His companion is native to Paraguay and didn't have anything wrong with him.

I dont know how else he should have handled it. i think that anyone that had that happen would have some sort of an episode. i would cry my eyes out and wish i was dead. That is probably one of the worst things to happen to anyone.

I would recommend it. i didnt take and pictures of the upstairs. it has a master bed/bath and 2 more bedrooms. a total of 3 bed and 2.5 bath....the basement is also plumbed for a half bath...but it isnt finished.
