Mom has been without a functioning kitchen for over a year. Dad tried to surprise her by giving her a new kitchen last September but never finished the project. Her kitchen is not organized because of the lack of cabinets and storage space. Using an extra bedroom, she stores her dishes in boxes. Finding a special dish is nearly impossible and frustrating.
She has make shift sink and broken dishwasher to strain her dishes. She also uses her kitchen table for storage space and preparing food. This makes it impossible to use for meal time which is frustrating for the family and her. Thanksgiving and Christmas is a nightmare for her. Last year for Thanksgiving she did not even have a sink and had to use the guest bathroom to wash her dishes.
Her patience is running out, dad started this over a year ago but this still remains a disaster. Mom has begged dad to complete his project, but without the time or funds and I fear their kitchen will never get fixed. Mom needs more work space and storage. Please help me out and inform me of any new contests to enter to win mom and dad a new kitchen make over.

Ok, I talked to Dan about it, He left some extra paper writing helps (Surprised me he knew so much about pursuasive writing)... He wanted to help. Check it out. I'll look for UGLY ROOM contests too. Pictures are great.

This is a nice idea... I have also thought they could use a home makeover... With all the talent within the family, if we lived closer together, we could all put a little work in and have the kitchen done in only a few weeks to months... but for now, I will visit the home makeover site laura posted about....

if you think about it 10 of us could put in 500 and we could have 5000 towards a kitchen.
One of my customers in Logan is a Kitchen Cabinet installer and he did our Kitchen for about $3000...(of course I had traded some computer work) or kitchen was worth about $5000 to $6000.
From what I understand Dad and Gleneen had the money but they wanted a fancier kitchen than they could afford...the money was gone before they made up there mind.
I suggested Ikea..they didn't like the fake look...I told Dad to get Ikea..then later buy real wood doors..didn't seem that Gleneen was hip on that as she wanted some special cherry wood or something.
I had spoken with my friend about bidding it out for them and I let Dad know...well via Jarom I think..cost for some of the parts. That was the last I had heard.
