LDS Conference!! Love it!

I think that we all look forward to conference. I love it, plus, I do not have to get ready for the day. I thought that we could talk about our favorite conference talks and speakers. I know we all have those talks that we feel are meant just for us and are grateful that they spoke on that subject.

Saturday Sessions, I liked Nelson's talk, especially when he said that the home is a laboratory of service..I felt that the word 'laboratory' was very appropriate. i also like how he spoke about how to teach children and also how to give children correction. *Each person is responsible for their own salvation and exaltation.

I also liked Sister Lant, she spoke of traditions and that the most important ones are not material but eternal...Nate and I need to start working on those.

President Eyring said a few things that I loved. "Joys in life is from familes.", "Those who never give up will find that God will never give up on them and help them."

Retention, Retention, Retention!

Elder Oaks, said "Our choice to follow teachings is not blind obedience."

I also felt that Richard G. Scott's talk was appropriately chose. he spoke about sexual abuse. i feel that so many are plagued by this and do not have the courage to try to end it or do not know what to do. I felt it was very special and for him to say that they are aware that it happens and was speaking about it to bring greater understanding, awareness and sensitivity.

On Sunday, I spent the day cooking but tried to pay attention...

I loved that talk about young mothers...Nate fell asleep and didnt hear it. i wished he would have, I know I am not a mother yet but I just thought it was neat.

Of course I loved Monson's last remarks about his family and wife. he will truly be a wonderful prophet.

Actually, I loved the opening prayer for the first session when he asked for a blessing on mothers. That topic came out more than once and I think, in the interesting time we are living in, mothers need all the blessings they can get.

In the same vein I love the talk by M. Russell Ballard about mothers.

I loved Susan Tanner's talk about delighting in the things of the Lord. I really enjoy her talks, so uplifting. It was a good conference. Calvin and Daniel were talking about President Monson's Priesthood talk, he wiggled his ears! What a great man.

My favorite talk, hands down, was the first talk of the second session. It was all about the truth of the Book of Mormon. The entire session was so phenomenal tho. Wow.

I got to see Jon and Laura that night , thats always fun for me. I love having them here.

Gosh, do I have to pick just one? I had been praying that there would be guidance for me as a new mom and HELLO was that prayer ever answered 17 hundred fold!!! I can't wait to look at the online text cuz I just can't take notes fast enough. It's so true that Heavenly Father hears us individually - just like the primary song "Heavenly Father, are you really there and do you hear and answer every child's prayer?" the answer is a resounding yes! My prayers were truly answered through this last conference.
